• On Sunday 1st September Burgh House in Hampstead, London, celebrates 40 years since the Burgh House Trust cut the ribbon on a newly saved house. This historic house is there for the community with all kinds of events and exhibitions on offer as well as changing displays of its permanent collection, in which my work is represented: an oil painting, two prints and several artist’ books. I have been running painting classes there for the last 5 years and shall be running a free drop in art session for all ages this Sunday 12 noon – 2pm, materials provided.
Hampstead Heath with its views over London is just at the end of the road. Constable rented a house on this street every year and went out on the Heath to paint. My concertina book featured here “Changing Seasons on the Heath” is now in the Burgh House collection. Burgh House also has two of my prints “Hampstead Panorama I” and “Hampstead Panorama II”, similar to the diptych here – the skyline has changed a little since Constable’s time!
